So 2010 has been some year. Full of ups and downs and definitely a few grown up challenges. However, I have learned that this year has been one of growth in maturity and can only set me up for my success in the future.
In 2011 the only thing I want to resolve to do is "to live life as if it were on purpose." And yes I did just quote Hitch. Watch out for more videos, pics, and random ramblings in the future.

Welcome December!
Hello Everyone!
I am so excited that it is December! It is my favorite month of the year because of obvious things like Christmas but my birthday and anniversary are also during December so it is just great all around. I'm super excited to be turning 24 this year on the 7th and for my 1st anniversary on the 8th with the hubby. We have it all planned out and are counting down the days!
I know I didn't post a pic of my twist-out and that was because it was so horrendous I couldn't all myself to be the embarrassed however I have been doing roller sets the past couple weeks and those are coming out pretty well. Tonight I am trying a spiral curl-out that I think will be pretty cute.
In other news, it's 3 days til my birthday!!! YAY!

Another day, Another strange obsession
As many of you might have noticed I have been quite into my hair, how it grows, what to do to make it grow, and displaying it any chance I get. The reason behind this recent concentration on my tresses is because it is my current obsession. I don't know why but every once and awhile I will become completely consumed with a subject about me or the world in general. Earlier this year I wanted to to know everything about the Tudor dynasty. This did coincide with the cancellation of an awesome TV show called The Tudors but that family is very interesting without its own HBO series. Losing focus...back to my obsessions, along with being seemingly consumed with my hair, I also will add musical theater, tv, and apartment hunting as steady subjects constantly running through my mind on repeat.
To further prove my single-mindedness I have some exciting news. I am going au natural with my hair. That's right no more chemical relaxers. I don't know how long I will be transitioning but it should be an interesting part of me to learn about since I haven't seen my natural hair since age 7.
I am quite proud of the fact that I will be participating in my first Black Friday this week. Although it will be via my bed and laptop (haven't built up the courage to face those bargain hunting crazies quite yet.) but I am very excited to get in on the deals then go back to sleep. lol
Well, I can't think of anything else to share so til next time...
Have a Happy Turkey Day!!

Willy Nilly Postings
I am a self-proclaimed procrastinator and general putter-offer of important tasks. I do try to build a regular and steady schedule but every time I try I end up putting it off thus continuing the vicious cycle. When I began this blog I wanted to put up a post at least once a week or more. I, as you can see, have failed miserably but I am hoping to rectify this by forcing my self to be more disciplined. I have no idea how so I am open to suggestions.
In other news, I have attempted my first twist out. I have yet to take down the twists simply because I'm afraid it will be an epic fail, but when I do take them down I will be sure to post a pic no matter how embarrassing it may be. Depending on the outcome I think that I will hold off on doing another twist-out because my hair is only neck length so the shrinkage may be too much for my liking.
Finally, I am going to be handing out samples of my desserts at work later this week to build a bigger client base and hopefully get some orders. Again if you have any sugary sweet needs please don't hesitate to email me.
I guess I'm done with my random rants.
Til next time

New phases in life.
So the hubby and I went apartment shopping today and I must say that this was an enlightening experience. Coming from Mississippi where everything is about half the price of things hear in the Atlanta metro area, my mind was not quite ready for the what little bang my buck was making. However, this is just one more lesson in my adult life and will learn accordingly. We will be able to get the apt. that we liked the best it will just take a little time and saving. I am claiming this and I know it will work out. My job is going well so that is of course the first step in making some money.
On a very different note, I have recently become a follower of the blogger Mop Top Maven and she is my new inspiration for my hair journey. She and Corinne Bailey Ray have the natural hair pattern that I hope to have if and when I were to go natural. They have such beautiful hair and I hope that I would be able to embrace my own natural texture. I have been dabbling with the idea of transitioning to natural but I would not do a BC (big chop), I would just take out my relaxed texture in increments. I have had relaxed hair since about the 4th grade and since that time hair has been extremely damaged, thin, and fragile. I have tried countless hair styles and cuts from a wave nouveau (similar to a jheri curl) to countless braided styles. As some of you know I began my hair journey in October of this year and I have noticed many improvements like strength, shine and, less breakage. I have only been on the journey about 7 weeks but I have had almost an inch of growth which tells me my countless hours pouring over hairlista.com and other hair care sites is working. I have learned so much about healthy hair care and since watching MopTop's vids on YouTube I have also learned some new skin care tips that I am excited to try. Acne blemishes and breakouts have always bothered me and I really wanting to try OCM (oil cleansing method). My only problem is that I can't seem to find anywhere nearby that sells essential oils or even basic oils such as castor oil. I really don't want to order offline because of the wait and the extra cost of shipping but that may be what I have to do.
Anyways, that's all for now.

Mrs. C's Confections
So I have always wanted to start my own company and on October 30, 2010 I officially opened Mrs. C's Confections. This company will focus on high quality, homemade sweets such as cookies, cakes, pies, and any other sugary goodness you can think of. As of now I can only service the Southern Atlanta area but I hope to soon build a client base and expand farther out.
Having my own pastry shop, catering company, and restaurant are three of my major career goals. I plan to build each of these as part of a brand that will pride itself on quality products and services. This first step toward that goal is very exciting and a little overwhelming but I know that it is the beginning of something great.
So, if you are in the southern Atlanta area and have a serious sweet tooth just email me or leave a message below. I hope to receive your patronage and your continued following.
Thanks

Month One - Hair Journey Update
Hey Everybody!
This is my one month update on my hair journey. I believe that my hair has grown about a 1/2 inch. I am very excited about my regimen. My favorite product has to be my Cantu Shea Butter Leave-in. It leaves my hair soft and very moisturized! I have some pics below to show my progress. My goal is still to be shoulder length by December or January. I know that it is a lofty and "adventurous" goal but I still want to try.
I have also met two of my goals to create and simple regimen, reduce shedding caused by breakage, and stretch my relaxer 8 weeks. I'm hoping to try out some more products soon, but til then I'm hoping I won't run into any setbacks.
Well, ttyl

It's been awhile!
Hey!
It has been awhile since I have posted something on here and I know you all have been dying to know what's been going through this random mind. I have been searching for a job and YAY for me I found one. Hopefully it will be the beginning of a long career. At least that's what I'm going for.
Anyways, I am almost a month into my hair journey and will be posting pics and new vid once it is officially a month. So stay posted for those.
For now I believe that is all.

Day one of healthy hair
I am so excited to start my hair journey. It has been a rough past couple weeks but it feels go to have something to accomplish through patience and perseverance. I have a pic below of the products I will be using they include: Garnier Fructis Fortifying triple nutrition shampoo and conditioner, cantu shea butter leave-in, motions CPR, ORS Olive Oil cream, and Palmer's olive oil as a seal. I will eventually incorporate Jamaican black castor oil but I'm having problems finding a vendor near me so I will have to order it online.
My Regimen
Shampoo 1x/wk (once a month clarifying w/ ORS)
Deep Condition 1x/wk (alternating protein and moisture)
Cantu Shea Leave-in
Moisturize and seal daily
Relaxer every 10-12 wks
My goals for growth and health attainment are posted in a previous blog post. If any of my more experienced hairlista sisters have any other recommendations please do so. I am open to any suggestions.

P.S.- I haven't decided on the relaxer I will be using but I do want to try one with lye because for years I have been using no-lye and never liked the results.

Realizations of Life
As I have become a young adult, gotten married, and lived a little life, I have come to realize that life is not a gumdrops and rainbows. Forest's mom was right, "you never know what your going to get" but what she didn't mention was that sometimes the things you get aren't even chocolate it's poop in chocolate form. I have had, as you can probably guess, an extremely trying week and the weekend has been the red icing on top (in case you didn't figure it out I don't like red icing.). My husband and I have been on a diligent and unfruitful job search since our recent relocation to Georgia from Mississippi. I, having an optimistic heart, believed that by leaving our rural area and moving to the Atlanta Metro area there would be jobs for the asking or at least for the finding. But what we are faced with is the hunting, scrounging, and desperate pleading. All of this would be one ounce more bearable if we still had our own place, but in our haste of escaping MS we agreed to live with my mother and have been trying to grin and bear it to the best of our ability.
I am not saying that I expected to move here, find six-figure careers, and live happily ever after. I did, however, plan to find mediocre jobs to have some sort of income and live pleasantly until we found our tiny niches in the world. Maybe I haven't given it enough time and after this week we can go nowhere but up.
Hopefully next week I will have something uplifting and downright exciting to talk about but til then here's to trying to appreciate adult life with it lumps.

Before Pics
These are a couple before pics of my healthy hair growth journey. This is my new obsession and since I am trying to post things on here regularly I hope it will make me stick with it. Is it crazy to do want to do everything and nothing at the same time. Anyway, my mind is starting to wander. So... here it is.
Maybe I will be inspired to lose some of that stomach but not too much at once or my fragile concentration will be overwhelmed.

First Post!
Hey Everybody!
Welcome to the my random thoughts! I have made this blog as a result of one of my random thoughts. So one Google search later and hear I am.
So what do I do on this blog? I am 23, married to a great guy that I shall refer to as Mr. C. He is pretty awesome and we've been married for a little over 9 months. We live in Georgia at the moment but who knows in a little bit. I am looking for a new job which is why I am searching blogs in the middle day. My mind wandered and this is where it led.
I hope to soon have lots of followers riveted by every word that I post. We shall see how that goes. Well that's all I can come up with for now.
